Night Ride was presented at the Deadline demoparty in Berlin, Germany, on October 6th, 2024. It is a demo in 8kB created with the group Alcatraz.
The code was written by LLB and Zavie, with additional contributions from LJ. The music was composed by Virgill using the Sointu synth. Inspiration was directly drawn from Drive (2011), Heat (1995), Tron Legacy (2010), Nightcrawler (2014), and Eternal Apex.
This audio-visual presentation is meant to be run on a PC powered by Microsoft Windows Vista or newer, with an NVIDIA GPU equivalent to RTX3080 or higher.
The demo is written using C++ to create a window and initialize OpenGL. All the visual content is generated on the GPU using GLSL. The content is described using signed distance fields, and is rendered using ray marching.
